Rice is the worlds second most popular crop after Maize. Its botanical name is Oryza sativa. Rice is a staple food to majority of Nigerians and hence has an ever-increasing demand. A lot of money is spent importing rice into the country however the government is putting measures in place to ensure Nigeria meets its rice demand.
Our rice farm is located across 4 local government areas of Kebbi state. We have been able to use the pivot irrigation system to replace the rain-fed farming, this helps provide the crops with all it needs for water especially since rice is a water-loving crop.
The 9 months timeframe allows for planting, harvest, and sales.
This farm will allow the farmers to engage in dry season cultivation. The irrigation method will be the use of water pumps.
Each unit you select represents 1 hectare.
